The Thermo Scientific FD1540M Thermolyne Industrial Benchtop Muffle Furnace has a C1 single-program digital controller with eight ramp and dwell segments, 2.2L (0.08 cubic foot) heating area capacity, and a temperature range of 100 to 1,200 degrees C for general laboratory and industrial use. Four heating elements embedded in refractory cement on the furnace top, bottom, and sides provide fast and even heating, with minimal temperature gradient. Thermal-efficient ceramic insulation reduces heat loss and enhances energy efficiency. Heavy-duty firebrick insulation surrounds the chamber opening for increased durability. A 0.95cm (0.38″) diameter port at the rear of the furnace allows an independent temperature monitoring device to check internal temperature measurements. The furnace has a dual LED display that continuously shows both the chamber temperature and the setpoint temperature of the furnace. The counter-weighted front door swings up when opened, which vents heated air up and away from the operator. A ceramic hearth plate to protect the bottom heating element is included. This furnace is designed for laboratory-heating applications such as ashing, sintering, heat treating, quantitative analysis, and gravimetric analysis.
